Well, no surgery for Lexey. Her eyes are doing well so there is no need. We are amazed at her. She has reached the .987 percentile of her age group for her size. We are getting excited. She is also doing things that a 4-5 month old does, so developmentally she is only a little behind. Watching her play with her hands is adorable. I just love to hear her laugh!!!

Updates once every 2 months okay? Sorry. Lexey is doing very well though. She has to go for another eye appointment next friday. It is to determine if she will need some blood vessels lasered in her left eye. If she does she will be put under and it can be done here in Idaho Falls. So keep your fingers crossed. I think that she is just determined to not have surgery. She has overcome so many things that baffeled the doctors without surgery so far why not now? I eill try to remember to let you know what is happening. She is getting really fun!! She giggles, never really an out and out laugh but lots of giggling. Sheis a happy baby!! The only time she gets fussy is when she is hungery or really really tired, but it is still not much of a cry as more of an expression of her unhappiness or discomfort. As for her stats she is over 12 lbs and about 24 inches long, double her lebgth at birth.

People seem to want to know more. Gotta let you all know that my computer doesn't like the pictures I try to upload. I want to show you just how much she has grown it is amazing! I watched her on Tuesday last week. She is getting to the point where she is awake more and wanted to start to play with things, but not sure what to do. She sits in her swing and looks around and I put her on the floor for awhile as well. She is just a sweetheart. I don't have an update about her weight right now but I will let you know I am also going to try uploading the pictures on another computer to see if it is just my funny computer. If any of you all are still reading this . . . Sorry there was confusion about who was going to update about Lexey I will try to let you know things that are going on. I am going to post some new pictures as well. So let me know if anyone sees this and wants to know how she is doing. Lexey is now 7 lbs 3 oz!!!!! WOW!!! On Wednesday she went to the doctor and is no longer on oxygen!! It seems so weird to see her without those circles on her checks. She just is getting cuter as she is growing and showing her personality. She already thinks the world revolves around her. She wants her bottle right after she wakes up and is upset if she has to wait (there is nothing wrong with her lungs now!). She loves to be held all of the time. Now without her oxygen she loves to be carried around the house. She is also awake more now after she eats. It is adorable to watch her smile as well. Let me know if you want to read more!

Wow!!! LEXEY IS HOME!!! She is home in her room and look great when I saw her. It is so odd to see her in a carseat and in her crib. She looks so small when in both of those. We took pictures and will post those soon. My dad and I went to see her machine that she is hooked to and learned how to adjust her oxygen and the functions on her monitor. Brian and Kim are so excited! They will be saving so much on gas driving across town 2-3 times a day. It will be an adjustment having her home as they learned last night in the hospital. Brian is a heavy sleeper and Kim a very light sleeper, but they will work things out. If you have not read the comment that Sherri posted on the last post please do so. It is a very cute rhyme about visitors and Lexey's situation.

Crazy as it may seem but Lexey could be home tomorrow or Sunday!!! WOW!! She has been in the open crib now for over 24 hours and she is doing great. She looks small in the crib, but is 1915 grams (4 lbs 3 1/2 ozs). Tonight she passed her car seat test and her hearing test. Brian and Kim are up at the hospital right now. They are spending the night with Lexey in a room to see how they all do. So Lexey is back downstairs right now again. This way the nurses are close by yet Brian and Kim get their first taste of having a baby whom they need to care for all night and day. Depending on what the doctor says tomorrow will determine what happens. She will be going home on oxygen but that is not unusual. Tonight while she was eating her oxygen level was high that Brian and Kim almost had it turned off it was so low. She is amazing and now getting 2 ozs of formula a feeding which is when she gets fussy. Lexey will not be out and about of the house for quite awhile when she does come home. Also visitations may be restricted a bit at home so that Lexey stays healthy and the family get used to a routine. I will update this tomorrow after Brian and Kim call about the doctor report. Brian and Kim want to thank all of you for your continued support and prayers.

Yesterday was a big day for our little girl. She was moved upstairs to the other nursery. It has more room and the babies are less stressed by the ammount of people in the room. It is nice and willl be great for Lexey's transitions she will be making. Another change for Lexey is that she does not eat every 3 hours now. The nurses say that they will feed her when she cries. The thing is Lexey doesn't really cry. She sometimes fusses a bit but rarely cries. She really is a mild tempered baby. Other news that happened today, the nurse put Lexey in an open crib. She was only in it for 30 minutes and then her body tempature dropped so they put her back in the incubator. Kim is going to have them try again tonight. Because if Lexey can stay in the open crib and take all of her feedings through the bottle for 48 hours straight she gets to go home. We were hoping that she would be home by Saturday but it will not happen since they took her out of the crib today. She will probably come home on oxygen but that is not a big concern as long as she is well enough to come home that is wonderful. Oh and we have a 4 pounder on our hands!! Lexey reached 4 lbs on Wednesday.
