Lexey pooped twice yesterday. They still are not letting her eat yet. The xray showed she had air in her stomach. They took out the tube that decompresses her stomach. Her stomach girth has decreased which is good. She now weighs 675 grams. Boy that goes up and down alot I wish it would just increase as in she is getting better and stronger. She was better today and we are thinking positive.

Lexey is in a bit of trouble again. She is to have nothing by mouth for the next 3 days. She has what they call bowel rings and is not producing the waste equal to her consumption. This is noticable as her stomach is hard now not soft. When those three days are up she will have to go to Primary Children's for surgery if she still is not having bowel movements. She has a tube that goes through her mouth to her stomach to decompress her stomach/bowels. The nurses are taking xrays of her stomach every 12 hours. We are asking for yoour prayers again as Lexey faces this new challenge.

Lexey is a little wiggle worm. They had her up to 7 ccs of milk but they lowered in to 5 ccs again today. They have been laying her on her stomach more as they say it helps her digest her food. She is not producing as much poop as they would like. That is what the nurses are watching now. It is not a big concern yet, but they are watching her closely.

Weird update today. Lexey's heart and breathing stopped twice today. But she started breathing and restarted her heart both times before the nurses could do anything. Weird huh? She is up to 5 ccs of milk and doing great! That is still through the tube that slips in her mouth and goes down to her stomach. I hope you all noticed the changes on the right hand side of the blog. I put a conversion rate of pounds and grams as well as changed her birth weight. The first nurses forgot to subtract the weight of the equipment on the bed when they weighed her.

Went to see Lex today. She had pulled out her oxygen tubes from her nose again and her oxygen levels were still between 88-94. She is doing great!!! She gained some weight today as well. She weighs 735 grams, wow huh? The nurses are increasing the amount she eats as well. It was 1 cc of breast milk every 3 hours. Now it is 4 cc and they will increase another 1 cc every 12 hours. I don;t know how much they will increase it to. They will increase cc to what Lexey can tolerate. She also pooped today! That has been a concern for awhile. While Brian was holding her tonight, her oxygen dropped and the nurses put her back in the bed and upped her percentage of oxygen. They were handling her and fiddling with her and she was crying. Kim said she jus wanted to hold her her and try to calm her down, but was not able to and that is going to be a struggle for awhile still. It amazes me that she will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and has been through so much already. She still has a long way to go, but she is an inspiration of strength and overcoming the odds. We love our little Lexey peanut!

Well I am back. Lexey is doing well. Kim got to hold her again last night for about 45 minutes. I am downloading some pictures right now to upload. did Brian mention that Lexey's oxygen levels dropped the other day and her heart stopped for about 20 seconds. The nurses were not concerned about this. They said that it is a common occurance for premies. They did not even call the doctor or Brian and Kim when this occured. So all is well and she now weighs 690 grams (she had droppped to 635 grams).
