Lexey is doing great today! She is getting 5 ccs of milk and they are going to start giving her 6 by the end of the night. Her color has improved greatly due to the blood that she received yesterday. Her stats have been steadier since the blood transfusion. Like her oxygen levels and her blood pressure. She is up to 935 grams (2 lbs 1 oz). She is digesting very well and no problem when they have checked her residual (food still undigested) in her tummy.

She pooped!! Not once, not twice but three times! She pooped 2 times last night and once today. Also this morning she looked quite pale and so the did a blood test. Her hematocrit (blood oxygen) was low. So they gave her more blood. She is growing fast now it seems. She is up to 885 grams. For those who like pounds that is 1/2 pound short of being 2 lbs!!! What a big girl huh! The nurses say that the blood is heavy and added some of the weight, but that she is doing great. Crazy how big of deal it is to us for her to reach 2 lbs.

No poop yet, but Lexey produces so much urine that she is now wearing a big diaper. I am downloading a picture of it. It goes up to her shoulder blades, and yet it is still not the size of diapers you can buy in the store. She is a cutie and doing well.

The nurse tonight explained to us why Lexey has not pooped yet or steadily. When in the womb there is something in the baby that keeps her from pooping. Lexey has not passed this yet and so she is not pooping on a regular basis. As soon as she can pass that she will even better than she is. She is up to recieving 4 ccs of milk. They up it every 24 hours instead of every 12 hours. She still has not had a bowel moement and is weighing in at 820 grams. The nurse says she will lose about 20 grams when she does finally poop. They had taken her off the IV, but turned it up last night to keep her hydrated. Lexey is now no longer on the pressurized oxygen but on the regulaar oxygen blender. Meaning the air she breathes is a mixture of room air and oxygen. This is a great thing!! She is also very stable and comfortable when her mommy holds her. Her levels stay stable and she sleeps well. When daddy holds her, her oxygen level tends to drop. My other brother suggested waxing Brian's chest so that Lexey is more comfortable!! Hee, hee! She is overall doing great and growing, the nurses are going to measure her this week and let us know how much she has grown since birth. So more to look forward to as the week goes on.

People say that they get worried if this is not updated every day. Things are good right now and as they say no news is good news. Lexey weighed 805 grams yesterday but she did not poop yet. She should lose a bit of that when she does. They moved her closer to the window at the hospital. Actually right by the window. We take that as a good sign as they are getting her settled and not planning on having her move anywhere but to spend her summer in a comfortable spot.

Well, we are blessed another time. Lexey is doing well. Today (short of the 3 days they prescribed) they fed Lexey. She is only going to get 2-3 ccs of milk for awhile to make sure she continues to digest it. She is up to 780 grams today which means she needs to poop. The nurses say that she has gas and farts quite a bit, but Kim says she hasn't heard her. Today Kim got to hold Lexey. They get to hold her once a day if she is doing well. So the good news right now is that she will not have to go down to Primary Childrens for surgery. We are very excited about that. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
