5/17/08 News

Today was rough, the doctor woke up Brian and Kim this morning at 2:00AM and said that things were not looking good. Lexey had very low blood sugar. Later in the morning this had resolved and the doctor said that if she makes it through the weekend her survival rate will increase. She is a fighter! I went in to see her with Brian yesterday and I heard her cry. I told the nurse that I never thought I would feel so happy to hear a baby cry. Oh and I forgot to mention that Lexey has jondus as well and is under a light. They cover her eyes with a mask that has sunglasses printed on one side. They are adorable. And oh man you should see her diapers! They are too small for a doll! Brian and Kim got one for her scrapbook. Kim has been released from the hospital, but this weekend they get to have a room there to stay without being served and be with Lexey. The doctor said this because then they will be there in case anything happens. We ask for the faith of our family and friends to be with Lexey and Brian and Kim as they face this challenge together.

We talked to the nurses and they said that when Lexey was born she was actually 1 pound 10 ounces. They were worried more about her other cares. And was 28 weeks along.
Love, Brian and Kimberly Martin
